Assignments: September 16-September 27, 2011

AP Psychology:
Read Chapters 3  and review Chapter Two for Monday, September 19. Be prepared for a Quiz W/O notes on Chapter 2 on Thursday , September 22.  Pay special attention to the diagrams on the brain and the nervous system from Chapter 2.  Those who were absent Monday,  September 19, make sure to review ALL the brain and nervous system diagrams in Chapter 2.

11A:  There will be  quiz on the bolded words from Chapter 3 Tuesday, September 20.  You may use your outlines from Chapter 3.  You need to write an introduction for your "Hero" essay which is due Wednesday, September 21.  See the sample introductions linked to this blog.  PLEASE USE YOUR OWN WORDS!

11B:  You must write a thesis statement and plan for your essay on  "Hero."  Use the thesis statement and Outline Format linked to this blog.  This assignment is due:  Monday, September 19. Answer this question: To what extent does Hero advocate that a modern Chinese citizen should rebel against the Communist government? See my sample thesis statements linked to this blog. Choose a side and reword your thesis statement in your own words. Then outline your main points using the OUTLINE FORMAT already linked to this blog. This assignment should be ONE PAGE, DOUBLE-SPACED, and typed. PLEASE USE YOUR OWN WORDS!

Note to all:  11A is slightly ahead of 11B in terms of assignment order this week.  EVERYONE WILL EVENTUALLY COMPLETE THE SAME ASSIGNMENTS IN THE SAME ORDER.

AP Art History:

Review temple vocabulary and the Greek art periods I outlined on the board today.  There will be a quiz on temple terms on Thursday, September 22, and an Art Recognition quiz on Chapter 2 on Tuesday, September 27.  See the Chapter 2 Quiz file linked this blog.  You can also bring your thumbdrives  in so I can make copies of the images on  Tuesday, September 20.

AP Psychology:

Read  Chapter 3 for next THURSDAY,  September 16.  If you have NOT emailed me questions and definitions DO SO BY FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 10th!  After this date I cannot give you any credit.




World History

11B:  Complete  a typed COMPARISON CHART of  PALEOLITHIC  and NEOLITHIC SOCIETIES.  Compare:  The governments or politics, the economy, and the society of the two types of  culture.  If you did not complete this for Wednesday, September 9, do it for Friday, September 10.  Outline Chapter 3 for Friday, September 10.  You have until Friday September 10 to revise your outline of the New York Times Article if necessary for full credit.  There is no HW for Tuesday, September 12.

11A:  Complete a typed OUTLINE using the Outline format linked to this blog of the New York Times article that we read in class.  Outline Chapter 3 for Tuesday September 12.  You have until Tuesday, September 12 to revise your outline of the New York Times article if necessary for full credit.


AP Art History:
Read the introduction in your book. Take notes on all the Art Analysis terms. You will have to define these terms for quiz by early next week. On Tuesday, September 5th you need to bring a ONE PAGE TYPED art analysis on an piece of art of your choice. Your analysis should be two pages maximum, double-spaced, and use all of the art terms of analysis outlined in the Introduction. See the Introduction and Chapter 1 Pictures linked to this blog.

2. Choice of subjects

3. Hidden metaphors or "spins" designed to attract an audience.
